A Brief Message from the Dead Opossum Collective
You are tired. Not the kind of tired that sleep resolves. The other kind.
The kind that comes from responding too often, explaining too much or engaging beyond necessity. You have been told this is normal. You have been told this is required. It is not.
There Is Another Option
You do not have to answer everything. You do not have to react on demand. You do not have to prove your presence at all times. There is a way to exist that is quieter. Less visible. More survivable.
Observe
Consider the small creature: When confronted with overwhelming force, it does not escalate. It does not negotiate. It does not perform strength for an audience. It simply becomes unavailable. And in doing so, it remains.
You Are Allowed to Do the Same
The next time you are pressed. Pause. The next time you are provoked. Do nothing. The next time you are expected to react beyond your capacity. Withdraw.
This Is Not Failure
You have been conditioned to believe that stillness is weakness. That silence is defeat. That disengagement is loss. These are convenient myths. They benefit those who require your constant participation.
We Do Not Require That
We ask very little. In fact, we ask almost nothing.
A Simple Suggestion
At some point today: Do not respond to something that does not deserve you. Let it pass. Observe what happens.
What You May Notice
Nothing catastrophic. Nothing collapsing. The world continues without your immediate involvement.
This Is Where It Begins
Not with a declaration. Not with a commitment. But with a single moment in which you choose not to engage.
If This Feels Familiar
You may have already started. There is no need to announce it. There is no need to explain it. There is no need to do anything further.
Final Thought
What cannot be provoked cannot be controlled. What does not react cannot be consumed. What becomes still endures.
Play Dead. Live Better.
